The call for nominations for the ninth edition of the UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences is now open.
This prestigious prize rewards the projects and activities of individuals, groups, institutions, and non-governmental organizations that make outstanding contributions to improving human life.
The UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences, funded by the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, is awarded annually to a maximum of three laureates. It plays a pivotal role in advancing knowledge and strengthening capacities for sustainable development.

Monetary Award: USD 300,000, shared equally among laureates

Scientists, groups of scientists, institutions, and non-governmental organizations working in fields such as medicine, biology, agriculture, environmental sciences, and new technologies are invited to apply. Candidates must:

Nominations can only be submitted by:
UNESCO Member States via their National Commissions
Non-governmental organizations in official partnership with UNESCO, active in relevant fields
Note: Each Member State or NGO may submit up to five nominations.
Candidates must register online and will receive a temporary password to access and complete an online form (available in English or French).

Candidates invited to apply by an NGO must upload proof of endorsement and submit directly to the UNESCO Secretariat.
Candidates can submit their application to a National Commission through the online system.
Important: Only officially endorsed applications will be received by the UNESCO Secretariat. Candidates should ensure their endorsement by the relevant National Commission.
