The call for applications for the Thailand International Postgraduate Programme is now open.
The Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP) was introduced in 2000 as a flagship initiative of the Royal Thai Government to provide postgraduate scholarship opportunities to candidates from developing countries worldwide.
Beyond academic training, TIPP offers participants a unique opportunity to experience Thailand’s rich cultural heritage, while deepening their understanding of the country’s development approaches, innovation systems, and renowned hospitality.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be nominated by the National Focal Point for International Development Cooperation from a TIPP-eligible country/territory
- Preferably be employed in the government sector or in a field related to the selected course
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant professional experience in a related field
- Demonstrate good proficiency in English
- Submit valid English language test results (if the Bachelor’s degree was not taught in English), as per institutional requirements
- Be 45 years of age or younger
- Be in good physical and mental health and not pregnant
TICA reserves the right to revoke the scholarship if awardees violate programme rules and regulations.
Additional requirements may apply in accordance with individual university regulations.
What the Scholarship offers
The Royal Thai Government will cover the following costs for successful candidates:
- Round-trip economy class airfare
- Monthly subsistence allowance
- Settlement, book, and thesis allowances
- Thai visa fee
- Tuition fees
- Health insurance

In addition to the online application, hard-copy applications must be submitted through the Royal Thai Embassy in Pretoria.

Documents 1–6 are mandatory. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
All documents must be in English and duly endorsed by the applicant’s supervisor and the relevant National Focal Point.
