The Shandong Provincial Government of the People’s Republic of China is offering 30 scholarships to undergraduate international students who are interested to study in one of Shandong Universities in China to further boost exchanges and cooperation between Shandong and its sister cities and cities with friendly cooperative relationships and friendship organizations abroad.

Who can apply?

  • Application is open to foreign nationals aged between 18 and 45 (aged under 30 for applicants for undergraduate programmes);
  • Must be in good health without any criminal record(s);
  • Must be self-disciplined learners who qualify for university admissions;
  • Must be deeply interested in studying in China and in promoting exchanges and cooperation between Shandong province and their countries of origin;
  • Must not be recipients of other scholarships provided by the Shandong Provincial People's Government, municipal governments or Chinese universities, Chinese Government Scholarships (CGS), Confucius Institute Scholarships (CIS) or any other full-ride scholarship.
  • Must abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules of the universities they apply for.

What the scholarship offers

The Scholarship provides RMB30,000 yuan to host universities for each student annually for

  • Registration;
  • Tuition;
  • On-campus accommodation and
  • Medical insurance.

Applicants will be responsible for all other expenses not covered by the scholarship.

Application process

Applicants must select three universities from the List of Host Universities for Shandong Provincial Government Scholarship for Foreign Students.

To apply, applicants must complete and submit the Scholarship Application Form to their local authorities for international exchanges and cooperation or their friendship organizations.
