The Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL) "One Belt, One Road" Scholarship Programme aims to inspire students who demonstrate a high level of moral, intellectual, and physical development or have exceptional individual abilities.

Application time is generally from February to April each year. As a prospective, more specific information will be published in the website by institutions. Selection time is from January to July each year.
Who can apply?
Applicants must meet at least three of the following conditions:
- Must love China, comply with Chinese laws and regulations, and be in good health;
- Applicants should have an excellent academic record or have a specific stylistic specialty;
- For graduate applicants, the HSK5 certificate is required, and undergraduate applicants need the HSK4 certificate;
- Applicants must have achieved school-level or higher honors in sports, art, or other social competitions, and they must have been awarded at least a third prize;
- Applicants should have participated in all kinds of academic forums and be able to provide supporting materials;
- Applicants should have independently written and published an academic paper;
- Applicants are likely to play a greater role in fostering friendly relations between China and other countries;
- To qualify, applicants need to be recommended by foreign government agencies or foreign embassies;
- If selected, the applicant should be conducive to the development of the school.

Please note: Successful applicants will be expected to cover the cost of travel to China, expenses for visa application and any additional living expenses not covered by the scholarship.
