CHINA: Shanghai Foreign Student Government Scholarship

The Shanghai Government is offering scholarships to undergraduate and master's students who are interested to study at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.

Application time is generally from February to April each year. As a prospective, more specific information will be published in the website by institutions.

Who can apply?

Undergraduate Scholarship Applicants:

• Must have successfully completed National Senior Certificate or above;
• Applicants should not be above 25 years of age

Master's Scholarship Applicants:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree or above;
• Applicants should not be above 35 years of age

For PhD programme:

• Must have a Master's degree or above;
• Have certain academic level;
• Should not be older than 40 years of age.

Scholarship is divided into category A and category B.

Category I includes:

• Philosophy;
• Economics;
• Law;
• Education;
• Literature;
• History;
• Management

Category II includes:  

• Science;
• Engineering;
• Agriculture

Category III includes:

• Medicine;
• Art.

What the scholarship offers

The Scholarship is divided into category A and category B.

Covered content

•         Category A: including tuition, accommodation fee, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance.
•         Category B: including tuition and comprehensive medical insurance.

Foreign students who  need to receive preparatory education enjoy living allowance of corresponding standard in accordance with their identities. A teaching subsidy criterion will be applied to the Preparatory College of Shanghai based on the undergraduate category.

Application process

To apply, please login on the “SHUPL International Student Service System, complete the online form and pay registration fee according to the requirements.

Applicants should confirm which school and major they are eligible for, as well as the application deadline and procedure, before registering online.

Applicants will be responsible for all other expenses not covered under the scholarship.
